Fight Direction and Intimacy Coordination.

Fight Direction:

Trained extensively across the nation with the Academy of Fight Directors Canada (FDC), I aim to drive advancements in safety, quality, and training standards within stage combat throughout Canada. Having trained in a range of stage & screen styles, weapons, and stunt work, including disciplines such as Unarmed combat, Quarterstaff, and Single Sword Combat to refined techniques in Unarmed Martial Arts and Two-handed Sword, my focus is on crafting precise and impactful staged conflicts that are safe, repeatable, and effective.

For the past two years, I have had the privilege of privately training under Jean-Pierre Fournier, a founding member of Fight Directors Canada, based in Edmonton, Alberta. Additionally, I have assisted J-P during the instruction of fight courses in the drama department at the University of Alberta.

In both 2022 and 2023, I attended the National Stage Combat Certification Conference hosted by the Academy of Fight Directors Canada training alongside renowned Fight Masters, academics, and practitioners from across North America, including; Ian Rose, Steve Wei, Daniel Levinson, Rachel Flesher, Tammy Everett, Mike Kovac, Rico Pfeiffer, and Jackie Hanlin.

Intimacy Coordination:

With specialized training from Theatrical Intimacy Educators (TIE) and Intimacy Directors and Coordinators (IDC), I approach intimacy scenes with a rigorous, process-driven methodology. Rooted in consent-based practices and clear communication, I foster environments where actors feel empowered to explore vulnerability and intimacy authentically and safely. This philosophy guides my work, ensuring that every intimate moment on stage serves both the artistry and humanity of performers, creating impactful scenes that resonate long after the run of a show.
